Our Teachers

Music Together® teachers are passionate about music and the development of children. They have all been registered and highly trained with Princeton's Center for Music and young children.

They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development. They thrive in seeing the children delight in musical play and the joy it brings the adults who love them!

  Tracy Coons

Meet Tracy Coons!  Ms. Tracy is a registered music together teacher/director and a registered nurse. She and her husband, Ben moved to Colorado Springs in 2009. Tracy discovered Music Together in 2007 with her 10 month old daughter in Nashville, Tennessee. From the first class,  they were both hooked and Music Together became part of their family's daily life! She continued to enjoy music, taking the classes here in Colorado Springs with both her children Sydney now (12) and Nolan now (9) and when the opportunity arose, she jumped at the chance to teach. She also took another leap and became the new owner of Pikes Peak Music Together in 2012.

Tracy has always had a love for music but like many she wasn't provided the opportunity as a child to explore the arts so teaching and facilitating this music and movement gives her extreme joy.  She has the "silly quotient" and often becomes one with the kids while playing, dancing and singing with all of the Music Together families!  Music Together has encouraged her to be a better musical role model for her children and she is thrilled to be bringing that music to others that otherwise might not be enjoying music making and that quality bonding time. Tracy truly believes that the JOY you express in music making today is the JOY your child will have in music throughout life!

Heather McCone-Hustwit

Meet Heather McCone-Hustwit! Heather has been a Music Together teacher since 2009. She started taking Music Together with her son in 2008 in California and fell in love with the program. As a life long music maker, she had participated in orchestras and chamber ensembles, choirs and theater, and loved this opportunity for her son.  After she moved to Maryland, she discovered her new director was looking for a new teacher and Heather eagerly answered the call. She took her teacher training at the Music Together Lab in Hopewell, NJ in the spring of 2009, and worked with her mentor over the summer and started teaching in the fall. While in that center, she taught for 6 years and participated in the guitar class, taught in a preschool, and completed her Cert 1 in July of 2014. She was a long term sub for a Music Together director in Stuttgart, Germany,  and has since found her new home with Pikes Peak Music Together.
